Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated, reliable and detail-oriented Chairside Dental Assistant to join our busy and growing dental practice. Our office focuses on general dentistry, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages. The ideal candidate will support dentists during patient procedures, ensure infection control protocols are maintained, and provide exceptional patient care. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, clinical procedures, and medical documentation to facilitate smooth operations within a busy dental clinic. Experience with electronic health records systems such as Dentrix is highly desirable.

Duties:
Assist dentists chairside during various dental procedures including restorations, extractions and prosthodontics. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take X-rays and other medical imaging as required, adhering to proper aseptic techniques. Record patient vital signs and medical history accurately in electronic health records systems such as Dentrix Maintain infection control standards by following OSHA guidelines and sterilization protocols. Assist with patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions. Manage medical documentation and ensure accurate coding for procedures performed. Ensure the clinic environment remains clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Experience:
Dental experience preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate. Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred. Proficiency with dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential. Experience with digital imaging equipment such as 3D scanners is a plus. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry procedures is advantageous. Ability to operate dental software programs like Dentrix Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical coding practices related to dental procedures.
