About Us Little Roots Pediatric Dentistry is a warm, fun, and patient-centered practice located in Bartlett, Illinois. The Opportunity Little Roots Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a motivated, skilled, and people-loving individual to join our team in a dual-role capacity as both a Dental Assistant and Business Coordinator Team Member . This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, kid-friendly environment and enjoys variety in their day and building something special. In this role, you'll split your time between chairside assisting and front office operations — making you a true cornerstone of our practice. Responsibilities Clinical (Dental Assistant) Provide chairside assistance to dental providers during pediatric procedures Coronal Polish Certified a plus Prepare and break down treatment rooms efficiently between patients Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards Take and process digital X-rays as directed Support delivery of a calm, positive experience for young patients and their families Administrative (Dental Business Coordinator) Manage patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and follow-up communications to optimize patient flow Handle patient check-in/check-out, registration, and insurance verification Process billing, co-pays, and insurance claims with accuracy and attention to detail Respond to patient inquiries by phone, email, and in person with warmth and professionalism Maintain electronic health records (EHR) and ensure full compliance with HIPAA regulations Collaborate with the clinical team on treatment planning, financial arrangements, and insurance coordination Support office organization, inventory management, and equipment maintenance as needed Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or certification in dental assisting preferred 2+ years of experience in a dental office, with exposure to both clinical assisting and dental front office/administrative duties Proficiency in dental practice management software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar) Strong knowledge of dental terminology, pediatric procedures, and insurance billing practices Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills — especially with children and families Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance Positive attitude, team-player mindset, and a genuine love for working with kids Benefits Competitive hourly compensation based on experience Paid time off (PTO) 6 paid holidays (when falling on a scheduled workday) Annual uniform allowance Opportunities for professional development, continuing education, and advancement A supportive, upbeat team culture where your contributions are valued Equal Opportunity Employer Little Roots Pediatric Dentistry is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and equity in the workplace. $21.00 - $28.00 per hour
