Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. In this energetic role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. The Dental Assistant is the patient's advocate throughout their dental experience, providing meaningful patient feedback with compassion. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, implants and surgery treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Manage patient records using Dentrix while maintaining strict clinical confidentiality policies. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, treatment planning, and dental terminology to promote ongoing oral hygiene. Ensure compliance with infection control standards, including dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques. Support the dental reception area by managing patient management software, scheduling appointments, and handling administrative tasks as needed. Skills Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dentistry. Experience with dental equipment operation, including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools. Expertise in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and healthcare infection control practices. Skilled in chairside assisting with general dentistry procedures as well as specialized areas like endodontics and oral surgery. Ability to perform dental x-ray imaging safely following radiation safety guidelines; familiarity with medical imaging is a plus. Strong communication skills for working effectively with patients of all ages and collaborating seamlessly with the dental team. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure the confidentiality of all medical records and patient information. Experience working in a fast-paced dental clinic environment with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
