Job Description
Join a Team Making Dental Care More Accessible in Kankakee Community Health Partnership of Illinois (CHP) is a nonprofit community health organization providing medical, dental, and behavioral health services to underserved communities throughout Illinois. We are looking for a compassionate and dependable Dental Assistant to join our Kankakee dental team. In this role, you'll work closely with our dentist and clinical team to provide welcoming, high-quality care to patients from diverse backgrounds. Experienced Dental Assistants are encouraged to apply, and we also welcome candidates who have completed a dental assisting program or have relevant clinical experience and are eager to grow their skills. What You'll Do Provide chairside assistance during dental examinations and procedures Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care Assist with dental X-rays in accordance with applicable requirements Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment Take dental impressions and assist with other laboratory procedures Help patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive dental care Maintain accurate and confidential patient records Support appointment scheduling and other dental office functions as needed Help maintain a clean, organized, and patient-ready clinical environment What We're Looking For Dental assisting experience, completion of a dental assisting program, or relevant clinical experience preferred Familiarity with dental instruments, infection-control practices, and sterilization procedures Dental X-ray qualification/certification preferred Strong communication and patient-service skills Dependable, organized, and attentive to detail Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team Bilingual Spanish/English candidates are especially encouraged to apply. Compensation:
