Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. This dual-role position offers an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional patient care while managing front desk operations seamlessly. As a key member of our team, you will assist with clinical procedures, ensure accurate documentation, and deliver outstanding administrative support. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel valued and cared for from the moment they walk through our doors. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Assist dentists during clinical procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and providing chairside support. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Verify insurance benefits, process claims, and handle medical billing using CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and Meditech or Athenahealth platforms. Answer multi-line phone systems professionally with excellent phone etiquette; address patient inquiries and coordinate appointment scheduling. Maintain organized dental and medical records, review documentation for accuracy, and ensure proper filing of patient information. Support administrative duties such as medical collection efforts, billing follow-ups, and updating care plans to enhance patient experience. Requirements Proven clinic experience in a dental or medical office environment with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical administrative procedures. Familiarity with EMR system Dentrix, Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards, and medical billing processes. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly; bilingual abilities are a plus. Strong organizational skills with experience in insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and medical documentation review. Ability to operate multi-line phone systems, 10-key typing skills, and maintain high accuracy in data entry tasks. Prior dental office or healthcare clinic experience is preferred; familiarity with dental terminology such as Care plans is highly desirable. Demonstrated computer skills including health information management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; ability to adapt quickly to new systems. Pay:
$17.00 - $21.00 per hour
