Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), where your skills and enthusiasm will directly enhance patient care and streamline our dental practice. This role is perfect for motivated dental assistants eager to expand their clinical responsibilities, work closely with dentists, and deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. As an EFDA, you will play a vital part in providing comprehensive dental treatments, supporting patient comfort, and ensuring efficient clinic operations. Duties Assist dentists with advanced procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry using four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols and aseptic techniques Take and develop X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring high-quality medical imaging for accurate diagnoses Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Epic to document patient information accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance Perform vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient evaluations Provide chairside assistance during various procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout treatment Support administrative tasks such as dental reception duties, scheduling appointments, and managing medical coding for insurance claims Skills Proficiency with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Epic for efficient record management Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards to uphold clinic safety and quality care Experience with general dentistry procedures as well as specialized fields such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools with precision Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other clinical staff Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding processes for accurate documentation Join us in delivering outstanding dental care by combining your technical expertise with a lively passion for helping others.
