We're looking for a skilled and motivated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our team and help us provide top-quality dentistry with compassion and precision. Position Overview As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), you will play a key role in ensuring efficient clinical operations and outstanding patient care. You will perform advanced chairside assisting duties and utilize your expanded function certifications to help deliver high-quality restorative and preventive treatments. Key Responsibilities Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including restorative, surgical, and preventive care. Perform expanded duties as allowed by state law, such as placing and finishing restorations, taking impressions, and applying sealants and fluoride. Take digital radiographs (X-rays). Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after procedures. Prepare and maintain instruments, equipment, and operatory cleanliness according to infection control protocols. Document patient records accurately in the practice management system. Educate patients on oral health care, post-op instructions, and preventive strategies. Maintain inventory and order clinical supplies as needed. Support team members and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment. Qualifications Current Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification Minimum of 2 years of dental assisting experience preferred. Proficient in dental terminology, radiology, and chairside assisting techniques. Strong communication and patient education skills. Detail-oriented, organized, and a team player with a positive attitude.
