The Dental Assistant supports the Oral Surgeons throughout the consultation, exam and treatment and is responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment that fosters long term patient relationships. This individual must create an exceptional patient experience at every point of contact, support excellent patient outcomes and ensure positive patient communications surrounding treatment planning, expected treatment completion times, follow up and recalls. Responsibilities Assist the surgeon during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are prepared and available. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate medical records, including patient histories and treatment plans. Monitor and record vital signs of patients before, during, and after procedures. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness of the dental operatory. Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently using dental software Experience Previous experience in dental assisting is required. Familiarity with oral surgery and sedation is a plus. Proficiency in taking X-rays and understanding of vital signs is essential. Experience with medical records management is beneficial for maintaining patient information accurately. Knowledge of dental software systems will be advantageous in streamlining office operations.
