Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our vibrant dental team! In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by performing advanced chairside procedures, assisting with complex dental treatments, and supporting the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your expertise in dental assisting, combined with your ability to handle multiple responsibilities with enthusiasm, will help ensure a smooth and positive experience for every patient. Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and orthodontics, ensuring precision and comfort for patients Perform expanded functions such as coronal polishing, temporary restorations, and placement of sealants or fluoride treatments following state regulations Take and develop high-quality X-ray images while adhering to infection control and aseptic techniques Manage medical documentation by updating electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft or Asprodental accurately and efficiently Monitor vital signs and assess patient health status prior to treatment, ensuring safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment to support diagnosis and treatment planning Support front desk operations as needed by handling dental receptionist duties, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow seamlessly Maintain strict infection control standards, including sterilization protocols and proper handling of medical records and documentation Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to facilitate effective communication within the team Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with proficiency in chairside assisting across general dentistry procedures Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records and documentation Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical record security Experience multitasking, patient care and comfort, and bilingual communication are desirable. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures in a dental setting Previous exposure to advanced dental technology including 3D scanners or medical imaging equipment is a plus Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly using proper dental terminology Certification as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) or equivalent Join us in making a difference by providing top-tier dental care!
