Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic role, you will support dentists in providing top-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of our busy dental clinic. Your expertise in chairside assisting, infection control, and dental procedures will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthodontics with precision and care. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging devices are ready for use. Take and develop X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in accordance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft to document treatment details accurately. Support patient comfort by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly using dental terminology, and addressing questions about treatment plans. Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure a sterile environment throughout all procedures. Collaborate with the dental team including receptionists to coordinate appointment scheduling and manage medical documentation efficiently. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry practices. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging tools safely and effectively. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Excellent communication skills to explain procedures using dental terminology clearly to pediatric patients and their families.
