Job Description

Dental Assistant at Off The Trace Dental (Slidell, LA) One of our fantastic assistants is heading back to school, and while we'll miss her dearly, we're excited to welcome a new team member! We're a small, privately owned general and cosmetic restorative dental practice located on the West Side of Slidell. Check out our social media to see what we're all about! Duties Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including Prosthodontics and Endodontics. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records using Dentrix software. Educate patients on post-operative care and proper oral hygiene practices. Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow within the clinic. Implement aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff. Support pediatric dentistry by providing compassionate care to younger patients. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting practices with hands-on experience in a dental clinic setting. Knowledge of medical coding systems related to dental procedures is preferred. Familiarity with various dental specialties, including Prosthodontics, Pediatric dentistry, and Endodontics. Strong understanding of aseptic techniques to maintain cleanliness and safety standards. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing medical documentation effectively. Ability to communicate clearly with patients, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed about their treatments. Proficient in using Dentrix or similar dental management software for efficient record keeping.
