Overview A state of the art, privately owned dental practice is seeking dynamic and energetic dental assistant to be a part of the team and provide utmost care to our patients and contribute in getting them healthy. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient procedures. Assist dentists during a wide range of treatments such as oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, and orthodontics by handing instruments and providing support. Take and record vital signs, medical history updates, and other patient assessments to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and explain procedures clearly using dental terminology. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols and OSHA standards. Experience Prior experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with dental assisting duties is essential. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to document patient information accurately. Knowledge of a broad range of dental specialties including orthodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, and general dentistry procedures. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical coding, and medical records management to ensure precise documentation. Experience with HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient confidentiality at all times. Ability to assess patient needs effectively through patient assessment techniques and vital sign monitoring.
