Responsibilities Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and oral surgery treatments, utilizing chairside assisting techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all materials are ready for patient appointments in accordance with infection prevention management policies. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper technique and patient safety protocols are followed. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for clinical confidentiality policies. Conduct vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care. Process dental instruments following sterilization procedures and maintain the cleanliness of dental equipment to uphold infection control standards. Provide excellent patient management by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring a comfortable experience throughout their visit. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed, maintaining smooth clinic operations. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry disciplines including pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery. Expertise in dental x-ray techniques and medical imaging technology to ensure accurate diagnostics while adhering to radiation safety standards. Familiarity with dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, infection prevention management, and healthcare infection control practices. Experience with dental instrument processing and four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency during clinical procedures. Ability to operate dental equipment such as 3D scanners and other advanced diagnostic tools effectively. Excellent communication skills for patient care delivery and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and healthcare settings to facilitate precise documentation and understanding of treatment plans.
