Duties Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Assist with the management patient records using Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collect vital signs and medical history information from patients to support comprehensive care. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones as a dental receptionist, and managing documentation. Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment following infection control standards and anatomy knowledge to prevent cross-contamination. Support the team with dental terminology explanations to ensure patient understanding of procedures. Take and develop dental X-rays while maintaining strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and dental imaging devices to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, but not required. Proficiency with Eaglesoft is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security is required. Strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge is necessary. Experience supporting general dentistry procedures along with specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics will set candidates apart. Licensing and hands-on experience with X-ray techniques, medical imaging, and 3D scanning technology is highly advantageous. Certification in dental assisting or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; ongoing training opportunities are available for growth.
