Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, implant surgeries, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and sterilized equipment following strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take digital dental radiographs (X-ray) ensuring proper positioning and safety measures in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage electronic dental records using Dentrix dental software. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Support the administrative team by updating medical records, and managing patient flow to optimize clinic operations. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental health. Assist with the use of advanced tools such as CBCT imaging, 3D scanners, and a Cerec crown mill. Qualifications Minimum one year of experience as a Dental Assistant, expanded functions preferred Certification in X-ray techniques and understanding of infection control protocols including aseptic technique. Strong knowledge of dental assisting procedures across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Ability to perform vital signs measurement, dental imaging, and operate dental equipment effectively. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members such as dental receptionists, hygienists, and dentists. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
