Orthodontic Assistant Help us make beautiful smiles with an exciting career in orthodontics! We are seeking an Orthodontic Assistant for our orthodontics practice. Our five exceptional orthodontic practitioners and team are committed to helping patients find their best smile, and love seeing the patient's confidence build every visit. The Orthodontic Assistant performs many tasks, requiring both interpersonal and technical skills. The right candidate must be self-motivated, possess excellent verbal and written skills, be people oriented, have the desire to grow within our company, and be comfortable interacting with pediatric and adult patients. A radiating, positive attitude is a must! Responsibilities primarily include assisting the orthodontist during treatment procedures by: Taking dental radiographs (x-rays). Confirming patients' medical history. Adhering to infection control protocols and procedures, and preparing/sterilizing instruments and equipment. Keep patients at ease before, during, and after dental and/or orthodontic treatment. Performing specific assisting duties such as: bonding/debonding orthodontic brackets and attachments, and changing/removing bracket color ties; cementing and removing orthodontic appliances; placing, removing, and cutting orthodontic wires; routine orthodontic adjustments and emergency visits. Providing patients with instructions for oral care following treatment, and teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health. Light cleaning duties for sterilization, and maintaining office cleanliness. Taking scans of patients' teeth for appliances, retainers, and Invisalign options.

$23.00 - $26.00 per hour
