Position Summary:
The Arthur Center is looking for a Dental Assistant who rings both clinical skill and genuine care for people to everything they do. In this role, you will work alongside our dentists and clinical team to ensure every patient receives high-quality care in a welcoming, supportive environment. From preparing patients and instruments to take x-rays and advising ora health, you will play a hands-on role in making sure our patients feel respected, heard, and care for at every step. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Patient Care & Experience Ensure every patient enjoys a positive experience and is treated with the respect, compassion, and care they deserve Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after treatment, tailoring your approach to each individual's physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs Collect and record patient health histories (dental and medical) in the EHR/EDR prior to examination Assist the dentist chair-side by organizing and preparing instruments and providing support during procedures Take and process x-rays accurately and safely Advise patients and their families on oral hygiene, dental care, and post-treatment instructions Complete progress notes and follow through with all post-visit duties Records, Compliance & Billing Maintain accurate, timely patient records and documentation in full compliance with HIPAA and all applicable regulations Ensure patient services and billing information is collected and submitted accurately to support favorable outcomes Uphold all regulatory, accreditation, and clinic policy standards across every responsibility Clinical Operations Prepare, maintain, and sterilize dental instruments, materials, and equipment following established infection control procedures Demonstrate working knowledge of dentistry procedures, tray setup, sterilization techniques, and materials Utilize required technology, systems, and equipment for patient data collection and records management Provide backup support to front desk functions and perform office duties as needed Relationships & Teamwork Build genuine, positive relationships with patients and their families Develop strong working relationships with Patient Services Representatives, dental hygienists, dentists, and all clinic staff Contribute to a collaborative team environment where everyone is supported and value.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a high school diploma is required.
Preferred:
Successful completion of a dental assistant licensing or registration program. Certificate of Completion in an Expanded Function Dental Assisting in the state of Missouri, not necessary, but preferred.
