Dental Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a dependable, gentle, and team-oriented assistant who enjoys working with kids and young adults, can help them feel at ease, and communicates clearly with parents and staff. Responsibilities include chairside assisting, coronal polishing, taking digital X‑rays, maintaining sterilization and infection control, turning rooms efficiently, and helping support a positive, family-centered environment. This is a part-time position, 3 days a week: Mondays 9-5, Thursdays 9-5, and Saturdays 9-2, with a pay range of $18-$23 per hour depending on experience. Candidates must hold a current NC Dental Assistant II status, be certified to take radiographs, and be able to perform coronal polishing within NC Board guidelines; Spanish-speaking is highly recommended as we care for many Spanish-speaking families, and we will require a 2-3 hour working interview on a Saturday to evaluate fit with our team and patients. Duties Chairside assisting during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, implants, endodontics, extraction, nitrous oxide, and pediatric dentistry Adherence to aseptic techniques, infection control protocols, and proper use of dental equipment such as 3D scanners and imaging devices Manage daily clinic operations, including scheduling appointments, coordinating with front desk staff, and maintaining efficient patient flow Assist with medical documentation by accurately recording vital signs, medical history, and treatment details in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) . Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality of medical records Oversee the proper Nitrous Oxide, use of X-ray equipment and perform radiographic procedures following safety standards Support the team in maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment while managing inventory of dental supplies and ensuring sterilization processes are followed Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices Proficiency in EMR systems Skilled in chairside assisting across various specialties including oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety protocols Familiarity with medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners and general dentistry equipment Excellent communication skills English and Spanish to collaborate effectively with patients, dentists, hygienists, and administrative staff Certification in Dental Assisting (CDA) or equivalent; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or radiography are advantageous Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques necessary for maintaining a safe clinical environment Join our dedicated dental team toward delivering outstanding patient care while advancing your professional growth!
