The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, detail-oriented, and experienced in providing orthodontic clinical support and exceptional patient care. This position assists the doctor in treating patients requiring corrective procedures for alignment and spacing issues, retention, TMD, and sleep apnea management. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Review daily schedules and prepare appropriate trays, instruments, and materials for patient treatment Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and procedures Perform patient triage and initiate patient care under the supervision of the doctor Take dental radiographs/x-rays as applicable Set up, sterilize, and maintain dental equipment and instruments Take impressions and digital scans for study models and orthodontic appliances Develop and assist with individualized patient treatment plans Record and communicate patient observations, concerns, and reactions to the clinical team Educate patients on treatment plans, oral hygiene, appliance care, and post-treatment instructions Update patient records and clinical documentation accurately Schedule follow-up appointments, collect payments when necessary, and assist with patient check-out Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control protocols Support team operations and perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum of 1-2 years of orthodontic assisting experience preferred Dental Assistant II certification from an accredited program or equivalent required Current CPR certification required Coronal Polishing certification preferred Nitrous Oxide certification preferred Strong communication and patient care skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment Experience with digital scanning and orthodontic software preferred What We're Looking For Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Dependable and professional work ethic Excellent attention to detail Passion for patient care and creating a positive patient experience
