Grimm DDS, PA is a privately owned dental practice that has proudly served the Kernersville community for 25 years. Our team is committed to providing personalized, high-quality dental care in a comfortable and supportive environment. We are looking for a dependable, organized, and patient-focused Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will take pride in helping patients feel comfortable, supporting efficient clinical care, and contributing to a positive team environment.
Schedule Monday-Thursday:
8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with lunch from 1:00-2:00
PM Friday:
8:00 AM-1:00 PM Benefits Paid time off Retirement plan In-office dental benefits for employees and immediate family Training and professional development opportunities Primary Responsibilities Patient Care and Clinical Assistance Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures Prepare patients and treatment rooms for scheduled care Help patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their visit Review post-treatment instructions and other information as directed by the dentist Ensure patients' questions are addressed or communicated to the appropriate team member before they leave Schedule post-operative visits appropriately Complete post-operative phone calls to check on patients Perform permitted clinical duties in accordance with North Carolina requirements and under the dentist's direction Mix, prepare, and properly handle dental materials Anticipate the dentist's needs and support an efficient flow of patient care Maintain patient privacy and professionalism at all times Clinical Documentation Accurately chart existing conditions, completed treatment, and planned treatment as directed by the dentist Enter complete and accurate clinical notes into the patient's electronic record Document materials, procedures, instructions, and other required treatment information Track referrals, laboratory cases, and other clinical follow-up items as assigned Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and applicable legal requirements Treatment Room and Sterilization Management Ensure treatment rooms are clean, stocked, organized, and ready before each patient Clean and disinfect treatment rooms according to office protocols, OSHA requirements, and infection-control standards Properly process, package, sterilize, and store instruments Keep trays, instruments, cabinets, and clinical workspaces organized Follow established laboratory and sterilization procedures Monitor sterilization equipment and complete required logs Follow preventive maintenance and cleaning schedules for dental equipment Monitor oxygen, nitrous oxide, and emergency supplies as assigned Report damaged equipment, supply concerns, and needed repairs promptly Laboratory Case Management Prepare and send laboratory cases promptly and accurately Confirm that prescriptions, impressions, scans, and supporting information are complete Enter cases into the office's laboratory case tracking system Monitor expected return dates and update case information when needed Properly receive, document, and store completed laboratory cases Inventory Management Monitor clinical inventory and communicate when supplies need to be ordered Restock treatment rooms and sterilization areas Rotate supplies and monitor expiration dates Help prevent unnecessary waste while ensuring needed materials remain readily available Team and Office Participation Participate actively in team meetings, training, professional development, and planned practice events Communicate respectfully and effectively with patients and coworkers Support a positive, patient-first office environment Work cooperatively with clinical and administrative team members Assist in other areas of the practice when time and training allow Follow office policies, safety procedures, and established systems Qualifications and Skills Previous experience is preferred, but we welcome both DA I and DA II candidates who bring a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn. Strong interpersonal and communication skills A compassionate and professional approach to patient care Dependable, punctual, organized, and attentive to detail Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a busy clinical environment Willingness to receive feedback and continue developing professionally Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive team culture Working knowledge of infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA requirements Dental assisting credentials and radiography qualifications appropriate for assigned duties under North Carolina requirements If you enjoy helping patients and contributing to a team that values personalized care, we welcome your application.
