Old Bridge, Clifton, East Orange, Paterson, Totowa, Elizabeth Responsibilities:
Assist orthodontist in patient assessment and treatment planning Assist and prepare orthodontic procedures, such as fitting braces, adjusting wires, and placing elastics. Sterilize, set up and prepare orthodontic equipment and instrumentation Preparation and maintenance of medical records and documentation Create patient file entries Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays) Provide patient instruction and education on oral hygiene and care Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment Perform basic laboratory duties Schedule patient appointments Manage patient flow Under the supervision of the Orthodontist, deliver and assist with direct patient care Take diagnostic records Document and prepare cases Other duties as assigned
Skills:
Successful candidates should demonstrate the following strengths: strong communication proficiency, customer focus, ethical, excellent organizational skills and problem solving, team player
Requirements:
High school diploma required; either a diploma from accredited orthodontic assistant program or relevant clinical experience. Dental assistant license or relevant clinical experience. X-ray license required. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with orthodontic procedures, terminology and techniques. Salary commensurate with experience, up to $28 / hr
