In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient interactions, and ensure the smooth operation of the dental clinic. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help foster a positive experience for every patient while maintaining high standards of infection control and clinical excellence. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners, ensuring accuracy and patient comfort. Manage patient records efficiently using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a sterile environment through aseptic technique. Monitor vital signs and assist in pediatric dentistry procedures with specialized care tailored to young patients. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and updating medical documentation. Skills Proficiency in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge to effectively communicate with team members and patients. Experience with dental assisting in various specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics. Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Ability to operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and digital imaging systems accurately. Knowledge of EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation efficiently. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient privacy at all times. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or in customer service roles within a clinical setting. Understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and general health to facilitate accurate record-keeping and treatment planning.
