In this role, you will support dentists during procedures, ensure the smooth operation of the clinic, and provide compassionate care to patients of all ages. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and more. Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthodontics. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards. Manage patient records efficiently using patient management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies at all times while handling medical documentation and records securely. Support administrative tasks including answering the dental receptionist phone line, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft for accurate documentation and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment to assist effectively during procedures. Experience with dental instrument processing, sterilization techniques, aseptic technique, and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry for efficient workflow during various treatments. Ability to operate dental X-ray machines safely while following radiation safety guidelines; experience with medical imaging is a plus. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices when working with children or special needs patients. Knowledge of oral surgery procedures including suturing and post-operative care instructions. Excellent patient management skills to create a welcoming atmosphere while managing clinical confidentiality policies diligently. Understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control expertise necessary for maintaining a sterile clinical environment.
