Job Description

Job Overview Our team is looking for a new Full / Part time Dental Assistant. Our office boasts state-of-the art technology as it is a new construction (Constructed about 1.5 years ago). We offer comprehensive dentistry to include fillings, crowns, veneers, dental implants , root canals, clear aligners. While experience is ideal, we are happy to help you learn or expand upon your skillset. We truly take pride in creating a welcoming environment for patients. This energetic role involves assisting with patient procedures, managing clinical operations, and ensuring the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. You will play a vital part in enhancing patient experiences while developing your skills in all aspects of general dentistry. BLS required, Xray certification preferred , But not necessary. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly using aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during procedures such as cleanings, restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments by providing chairside support. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and image quality while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) in Dentrix including updating medical documentation and medical coding. Monitor vital signs and medical history to ensure patient safety before procedures; communicate relevant medical information to the dental team. Educate patients on post-treatment care, dental terminology, and oral health best practices to promote ongoing wellness. Support infection control protocols by maintaining a sterile environment, practicing proper aseptic techniques, and adhering to OSHA standards. Collaborate with the dental team on four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures. Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing medical records for compliance purposes. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential. Knowledge of dental assisting practices including chairside assisting, infection control, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology is required. Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is advantageous for seamless record management. Proficiency in taking X-rays and operating medical imaging equipment like 3D scanners is desirable. Understanding of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with children will be considered a strong asset. Certification in X-ray technology or radiography is preferred; ongoing training in infection control or HIPAA compliance is beneficial. Ability to communicate effectively using medical terminology and maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations ensures excellent patient care delivery.
