In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical efficiency. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining smooth daily operations within our busy dental practice. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting dedicated to excellence in general dentistry. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for procedures. Assist dentists during a variety of treatments including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, Implant restorative treatment, digital dentistry, and managing patient comfort. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners, restorative milling, dental x-ray, adhering to infection prevention protocols. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients prior to procedures to ensure safety and preparedness. Maintain clinical cleanliness by following strict sterilization procedures for dental instruments and equipment, including aseptic techniques. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and providing clear instructions on post-treatment care. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry, and oral surgery support. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, crown milling units and other clinical tools. Familiarity with dental software platforms like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Patient management software for scheduling and records management. Expertise in infection prevention management and healthcare infection control practices aligned with clinical confidentiality policies. Ability to operate dental sterilization procedures efficiently while maintaining compliance with infection control standards. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages including pediatrics; compassionate patient care is essential.
