Job Title:
Dental Assistant Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team and support the provision of quality dental care to active military personnel, veterans, and their families. This position offers an opportunity for a long-term contract of up to five years, emphasizing the importance of patient care and support. Responsibilities Set up instruments for patient visits and planned procedures. Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure. Accurately record treatments in Dentrix, including charting and clinical notes. Maintain supplies and equipment, including inventory and requisition as needed. Clean, package, and sterilize instruments, ensuring proper storage. Deliver patient education on prevention and post-treatment care. Keep the clinic clean and operable and perform routine equipment maintenance. Essential Skills Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification. Graduate of a CODA-accredited dental assistant program. Proficiency in Dentrix for dental charting and clinical notes documentation. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 24 months of dental assisting experience or demonstrably equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to stand, walk, sit, and bend for extended periods. Comfortable with room sterilization and conducting inventory and supply management. Effective communication skills to work with multicultural patients and interpreters. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Santa Fe, NM. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
