Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use following aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners while maintaining patient safety protocols. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments. Provide excellent dental reception services by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and answering patient inquiries professionally. Maintain infection control standards by adhering to OSHA guidelines, sterilizing instruments, and practicing proper aseptic techniques. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as medical coding, managing medical records, and assisting with insurance documentation. Qualifications Dedicated, reliable, and a team player Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Proficiency in dental software systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Familiarity with infection control practices, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for safe clinical practice. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently. Strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to assist with medical documentation accurately. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry is highly desirable along with knowledge of pediatrics-specific protocols. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and support the dental team seamlessly.
