Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Traveling Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting orthodontic procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and practices, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, including fitting braces and other orthodontic appliances. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols. Take X-rays and photos, ensuring accurate medical documentation is maintained for each patient. Utilize Open Dental software for managing patient records and scheduling appointments. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and care for orthodontic appliances. Operate 3D scanners to capture precise images for treatment planning. Maintain accurate medical records and assist with administrative tasks as needed, including dental receptionist duties. Collaborate with other dental professionals to provide comprehensive care, including knowledge of endodontics when necessary. Qualifications Previous experience in orthodontic assisting is preferred, with a strong understanding of dental terminology. Familiarity with infection control practices and medical documentation standards. Experience with X-ray procedures and 3D scanning technology is desirable.
