Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with expertise in chairside support, infection control, and patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations, supporting dentists during procedures, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and hygiene. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various dental procedures by preparing instruments, materials, and equipment efficiently. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Take and develop dental X-rays while following HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing patient concerns with professionalism. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed. Utilize advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging tools to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning. Demonstrate proficiency in dental terminology, coding, and understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry. Qualifications Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant within a general or pediatric dentistry setting. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging devices. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy related to oral health. Experience with chairside assisting in various specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatric dentistry is preferred. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or medical coding are advantageous.
