Overview Join our dynamic orthodontic team as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant and become a vital part of transforming smiles! Pay:
$18-$21 per hour (We are seeking entry level all the way to lead assistant role).
Schedule:
Full-time only . Weekdays 9 to 6 and Saturdays 8:30 to 1
Commitment:
Two Saturday per month to accommodate our patients' busy lives.
Opportunity:
As part of Straight Set Orthodontics we, have unlimited work and endless possibilities to grow within the premier orthodontic company in the area Duties Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance installations, utilizing expertise in dental instrument processing and aseptic techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental equipment, managing dental sterilization procedures, and ensuring all tools are ready for use in four-handed dentistry. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while adhering to infection prevention management policies. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for clinical confidentiality. Monitor vital signs and assist with patient care before, during, and after procedures to promote comfort and safety. Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment protocols using clear dental terminology. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with patient management software, answering patient questions, and coordinating with the dental reception team to optimize clinic flow. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with a focus on orthodontics or general dentistry; familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and clinical procedures including dental x-ray techniques and oral surgery support. Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with patient management software is highly desirable. Understanding of infection control standards, dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention practices. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care and communication skills. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and proficiency in medical documentation and records management. Certification in X-ray technology (or equivalent) is required; additional certifications in endodontics or prosthodontics are advantageous.
