Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Dental Assistant with some receptionist experience to join our vibrant dental team. This role offers the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care while supporting the daily operations of our busy dental practice. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to a welcoming environment where patient comfort and clinical excellence are prioritized. You will assist with clinical procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure smooth administrative functions, all while adhering to strict confidentiality and infection control protocols. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and more. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as Dental X-ray machines and 3D scanners, following infection prevention management standards. Manage patient records electronically using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix; ensure accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and managing patient comfort throughout visits. Handle front desk duties including appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, insurance verification Maintain clinical cleanliness and sterilization of dental instruments according to infection control policies; perform dental instrument processing with aseptic technique. Support clinical team with four-handed dentistry techniques and chairside assisting to enhance efficiency during procedures. Ensure compliance with all healthcare infection prevention policies and clinical confidentiality standards at all times. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and medical imaging procedures such as X-ray . Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix for managing medical documentation and records efficiently. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations along with strong understanding of infection control practices within a dental setting. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and manage patient care effectively in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry protocols and working with children in a compassionate manner. Strong organizational skills for appointment scheduling seamlessly. Excellent communication skills for liaising between patients, clinical staff, and administrative team members. Knowledge of dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management to uphold safety standards. $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
