Job Description
Job Overview Orchard Park General Practice Dental office is looking for a part time dental assistant to work on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a half day on Fridays. Past dental assisting experience is desirable. Individual must be outgoing, caring, and willing to be a participating team member in a fee for service dental office whose emphasis is based on the patient as an individual. Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following infection prevention management protocols Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout visits Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and records Support dental reception duties by managing patient management software, scheduling appointments, and coordinating patient flow Skills Proficiency with dental software including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Patient Management Software, and Epic for medical documentation Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment operation Experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection control practices, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention and control expertise Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards Skilled in chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort Familiarity with medical coding related to dental procedures and understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with children is a plus Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with patients and team members in a clinical setting Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a difference!
