In this energetic role, you will support dentists in providing comprehensive dental treatments while ensuring patients feel comfortable and cared for. Your expertise will help streamline clinic operations, maintain high standards of infection control, and enhance patient experiences. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) and operate advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners. Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental tools, mixing materials, and managing patient comfort throughout procedures. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and acting as a dental receptionist when needed. Maintain proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and electronic health record (EHR) systems like Dentix systems to ensure accurate documentation. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry. Familiarity with dental assisting tools and equipment, including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and vital signs monitoring devices. Ability to use dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or other EMR systems for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics. Certification in dental assisting or relevant coursework demonstrating proficiency in chairside assisting and dental terminology is preferred.
