We are looking for someone with 5+ years of dental assisting experience, ideally 10+ years. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily clinical operations, support the dental team in delivering exceptional patient care, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical efficiency. Your leadership will help foster a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and confident in their dental experience. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and possesses a comprehensive understanding of dental assisting practices, including pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry procedures. Duties Supervise and coordinate the activities of dental assistants and reception staff to ensure smooth clinic operations Assist with chairside procedures across various specialties such as pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics Manage dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection prevention protocols in compliance with clinical confidentiality policies and healthcare infection control standards Support the implementation of electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Open Dental for accurate documentation of medical records and dental charts Oversee dental x-ray procedures ensuring proper use of dental x-ray equipment and adherence to radiation safety guidelines Maintain clinical supplies inventory and ensure all dental instruments are properly sterilized and prepared for patient care Train and mentor team members on aseptic techniques, infection prevention management, and the use of advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy during all medical documentation and record-keeping activities Assist with administrative duties including scheduling patients, managing medical coding for billing purposes, and supporting the dental receptionist as needed Uphold high standards of clinical confidentiality while maintaining a positive patient experience in a pediatric or general dentistry setting Qualifications Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry procedures Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic or similar platforms for managing medical records and documentation Expertise in dental x-ray techniques including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology Demonstrated understanding of infection control practices including sterilization procedures and aseptic technique Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently using four-handed dentistry techniques Experience with healthcare infection prevention policies and clinical confidentiality protocols compliant with HIPAA regulations Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and educate patients about oral health care practices Leadership qualities with the ability to train staff on clinical procedures and safety standards Join our dedicated team where your expertise will make a meaningful difference!
