In this vital role, you will support hygienists and the Dentist during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help foster a positive experience for every patient, from routine check-ups to complex treatments. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly in accordance with infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans, while maintaining proper radiation safety standards. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems , ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental materials, managing suction devices, and supporting four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients requiring special care or pediatric dentistry services. Maintain a clean and organized dental clinic environment by following aseptic techniques and infection control procedures aligned with healthcare standards. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, and managing medical coding for billing purposes. Qualifications Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a general or pediatric dentistry setting with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Open Dental; familiarity with medical documentation and records management. Certification in X-ray safety and proficiency in taking intraoral and panoramic images; knowledge of medical terminology is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic environment. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while demonstrating excellent communication skills with patients of all ages.
