Duties will be primarily helping in the hygiene department, polishing teeth, providing recommendations for oral health and dietary counseling. Recommended to be comfortable working with children of all ages from 1-12 to make hygiene visits as comfortable as possible. Cross trained for sealants and restorative assisting is not a necessity for this position, but always a bonus. . Experience appreciated, but not necessary for the right person. Looking for well-organized, patient, and kind-hearted person that understands the hour-to-hour obligations to keep a dental practice flowing. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. Responsibilities Welcome patient and parent, making experience the best each time Guide the hygiene appointment with coronal polishing Sterilize and set up instruments, equipment and material needed Take and develop radiographs Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked Schedule appointments Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures Skills Proven experience as coronal polisher Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of health & safety regulations Certification necessary for coronal polishing. Good computer skills Excellent communication and people skills Attention to detail Well-organized and reliable X-ray certification necessary CPR certification Nitrous Oxide monitoring (not necessary for position Dental Assistant certification and/or license High School Education or equivalent Experience Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, particularly in roles involving chairside assisting or four-handed dentistry. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental is advantageous. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is a plus, especially when working with young patients. Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, vital signs monitoring, and infection control practices is essential. Experience with medical coding and documentation will be beneficial for maintaining accurate patient records.
