Job Description

Job Summary Join our family oriented dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly contribute to providing exceptional patient care. In this vital role, you will support a dentist during procedures, ensure the smooth operation of the clinic, and create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help us deliver top-tier dental services while maintaining strict infection control and safety standards. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and, ensuring efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic technique throughout patient care. Take X-ray images, when applicable, while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Manage medical documentation by accurately recording medical history, vital signs, and treatment details in electronic health records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix. Support patient comfort by explaining procedures using clear dental terminology and ensuring they feel at ease. Maintain infection control protocols and ensure all equipment is sanitized according to industry standards. Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and managing medical records. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting and taking X-rays with proper safety measures. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience working with EMR systems like Dentrix for accurate documentation and medical coding. Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic technique to ensure a sterile environment. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners and X-ray machines confidently. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to provide compassionate care for young patients. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality of medical records and documentation. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and other healthcare professionals.
