The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive procedures, with specialized training in expanded functions that enhance patient care and operational efficiency. As an EFDA, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental services, supporting dentists in complex procedures, and ensuring a smooth, patient-centered experience. This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment that values professionalism, continuous learning, and exceptional patient care. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments, utilizing advanced chairside assisting techniques. Perform expanded functions such as placing restorations, applying sealants, and taking preliminary impressions under appropriate supervision. Manage and update electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as and Dentrix with accurate documentation of patient information and treatment details in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Take high-quality X-ray images and operate 3D scanners for precise medical imaging essential for diagnosis and treatment planning. Conduct vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient evaluations. Maintain strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment adhering to OSHA standards. Support administrative tasks including duties, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow efficiently while providing excellent customer service. Collaborate with the dental team to deliver four-handed dentistry, optimizing workflow and reducing procedure time for enhanced patient comfort. Demonstrate to facilitate accurate recordkeeping and billing processes. Qualifications Valid Expanded Functions Dental Assistant certification or equivalent licensure with demonstrated experience in general dentistry settings. Proven across various specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, and implant procedures. systems such as , Dentrix, or Epic for efficient medical documentation and record management. Strong , and OSHA regulations within a dental clinic environment. Experience operating dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners for diagnostic purposes. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages, especially pediatrics. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
