In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by performing advanced dental assisting procedures beyond traditional roles. Your expertise will support general and specialized dentistry services, including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your skills in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment where your contributions make a meaningful difference every day. Duties Assist the dentist during a wide range of procedures, including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Take dental X-rays Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols aligned with HIPAA regulations. Manage dental records and documentation. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures. Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing patient flow efficiently. Operate advanced equipment such as 3D scanners. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of dental terminology to communicate effectively within the team and with patients. Skills Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic environment. Experience with dental radiography including X-ray techniques for both adult and pediatric patients. Knowledge of dental assisting procedures such as chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and supporting complex treatments across multiple specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics. Ability to interpret dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology to ensure precise communication and documentation. Skilled in using dental software programs like Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling, billing, coding, and record management. Excellent organizational skills combined with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy clinical setting.
