Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining patient comfort and safety. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a sterile environment through aseptic techniques. Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment for use during procedures. Perform X-rays as directed by the dentist while adhering to safety protocols. Document medical histories and maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care. Manage patient flow, including scheduling appointments and confirming patient attendance. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the treatment area, ensuring all supplies are stocked and ready for use. Utilize the dental software Dentrix for patient record management and appointment scheduling. Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy to assist in identifying issues during procedures. Employ four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during treatments. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, with knowledge of general dentistry practices. Proficiency in using dental software systems, Dentrix, is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical documentation processes and HIPAA regulations is essential. Strong understanding of anatomy related to dental health is beneficial. Ability to perform X-rays safely and effectively is required. Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and comfort. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining records and managing supplies. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating professionalism at all times.
