Full Job Description Position Summary:
As an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) at Core Pediatric Dentistry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality dental care to our patients. You will work closely with our dentists and other dental professionals to provide comprehensive dental services, and preventive procedures. Your expertise and dedication will contribute to our mission of improving the oral health and overall well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Assist dentists during various dental procedures. Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain a clean and organized dental environment. Take and record patient medical and dental histories. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care. Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout their dental visit.
Expanded Functions:
Perform expanded functions, including but not limited to placing and removing rubber dams, taking impressions, and applying fluoride treatments. Placement of Sealants.
Radiography:
Take and develop dental X-rays, following all safety protocols. Maintain and monitor radiographic equipment for quality and safety.
Infection Control:
Strictly adhere to infection control protocols, including the proper handling of instruments and disposal of hazardous materials.
Administrative Tasks:
Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes. Assist with scheduling patient appointments and managing patient records.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with other members of the dental team to provide comprehensive patient care. Continuously engage in professional development and training to stay updated on the latest dental techniques and technologies.
Qualifications:
Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent certification required. Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification or licensure in accordance with state regulations. X-Ray Certified Current CPR certification. Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and sterilization methods. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and a commitment to patient comfort and safety.
