Orthodontic Assistant Pezza Orthodontics Cranston, RI Job Details Temporary | Full-time 5 days ago Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description We are seeking someone to fill the position of orthodontic chairside assistant. This is currently a temporary position with no guarantee for a long-term permanent position. We prefer a full-time position (32 hours/week) but the hours can be flexible as needed. A qualified applicant must have prior experience in orthodontic assisting and be very comfortable explaining and delivering orthodontic treatment. We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic team player who should be engaging, energetic and possess excellent communication skills, as well as a strong work ethic. Duties Assist the orthodontist during clinical procedures, including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and fitting/cementing appliances. Take intraoral photos and digital xrays. Use our 3D scanner for creating appliances and Invisalign aligners. Enter treatment notes in the patient's electronic record. Provide patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about orthodontic treatment and assisting with patient management software to schedule appointments. Perform dental sterilization procedures in accordance with infection control standards and ensure all dental equipment is maintained in optimal condition. Qualifications Prior experience as an orthodontic chairside assistant with knowledge of dental terminology and chairside assisting techniques. Familiarity with orthodontic procedures including braces placement, arch wire adjustments, appliance delivery and Invisalign. Strong understanding of infection control and sterilization procedures. Excellent communication skills to educate patients about oral health care. Our office is open four days a week, typically closed on Wednesdays. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
