Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant (2) to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical assisting, patient care, and dental procedures, with a focus on delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. As a Registered Dental Assistant (2), you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient interactions, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. This role offers an engaging opportunity to contribute to comprehensive dental care while fostering a welcoming atmosphere for patients of all ages. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management policies. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental x-ray safety protocols and radiation safety standards. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform chairside assisting duties including patient management, vital signs measurement, and providing comfort throughout procedures. Maintain clinical cleanliness by following dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and acting as a dental receptionist when needed. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric dentistry or general dentistry needs. Ensure compliance with all healthcare infection prevention and control policies while maintaining thorough medical documentation and medical records management. Skills Proficiency in using patient management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, billing, and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical procedures across various specialties including endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery. Experience with dental equipment operation, including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools. Expertise in infection control practices aligned with healthcare standards to ensure clinic safety at all times. Ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while maintaining strict sterilization standards. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients of all ages—including pediatric patients—and team members. Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention protocols and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Knowledge of general dentistry workflows combined with specialized skills in pediatric dentistry or other advanced areas of practice is highly desirable.
