Position Summary:
The Clinical Dental Assistant Lead oversees daily clinical operations, supports the dental assisting team, and ensures smooth patient flow while maintaining the highest standards of care. This position includes both leadership duties and hands-on clinical dental assisting.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Operations Create weekly employee schedules and duty lists Oversee patient flow and ensure all patients are seated on time Conduct morning huddles and daily team communication Communicate with staff regarding lates, call-outs, and PTO requests Assist with interviews, new hire onboarding, employee evaluations, and write-ups/terminations Ensure all employees receive proper training and follow clinical standards Maintain OSHA, HIPAA, and safety compliance throughout the clinic Clinical & Administrative Support Communicate regularly with doctors regarding treatment, schedules, and patient needs Communicate with parents about health histories, treatment changes, and post-operative information Order and maintain nitrous, oxygen, and other clinical supplies Assist with coordinating patient treatment schedules Perform hands-on dental assisting duties, including: Sealants Nitrous monitoring Radiology Coronal polishing Chairside assisting
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 years dental assisting experience required (pediatric experience preferred) Prior leadership or training experience strongly preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to multitask and manage a fast-paced workflow Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork CPR certification (current)
