Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Back Office Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, friendly environment! In this role, you will support the clinical team by managing essential administrative and clinical tasks behind the scenes, ensuring smooth operations and optimal patient experiences. Your expertise in dental procedures, infection control, and medical documentation will help uphold our high standards of care. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient chairside support. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies while maintaining strict aseptic technique and infection control protocols. Take and process dental X-rays using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and digital imaging systems, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like open dental and Epic to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical history. Support front desk operations by coordinating patient appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and updating medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform vital signs assessment and basic medical imaging to assist with comprehensive patient evaluations. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards and anatomy knowledge for safe practice. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Open Dental • Strong understanding of HIPAA guidelines, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately; experience with 3D scanners is a plus. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing medical records and documentation.
