Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, assisting with clinical procedures, managing patient flow, and ensuring the highest standards of infection control and patient comfort. Your expertise will help create a welcoming atmosphere while maintaining efficiency and accuracy in all dental operations. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, by handing instruments and managing dental materials. Take and develop X-ray images, including 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and radiation safety protocols are followed. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes. Support the dental reception area by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient inquiries with professionalism. Maintain infection control standards by adhering to HIPAA regulations and proper sterilization procedures for all clinical tools and surfaces. Assist with medical documentation and coding related to dental procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Proficiency in using EMR systems such Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently. Skilled in taking X-rays, including panoramic and 3D imaging, with a solid understanding of radiation safety practices. Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental setting. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with children is highly desirable. Strong understanding of dental terminology, coding, and documentation requirements related to dental care.
