Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by providing chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and supporting the overall workflow of our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating positive patient experiences. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical histories. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging when necessary to support comprehensive patient care. Perform dental assisting duties including four-handed dentistry, chairside support, and taking accurate dental terminology notes for documentation purposes. Support the dental reception area by managing appointments, answering patient inquiries, and handling medical documentation with confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure all equipment such as 3D scanners is properly calibrated and ready for use. Uphold high standards of infection control and adhere to all safety protocols to protect patients and staff alike. Requirements Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current licensure. Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic or similar platforms for managing medical records. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics. Knowledge of medical terminology and coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment supporting four-handed dentistry techniques. $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
