We are a well respected, single-provider, private orthodontic practice near the Avery Ranch and Ranch at Brushy Creek neighborhoods in Cedar Park. We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible. Please note that we are not accepting in-person resumes or incoming phone calls regarding this position. All candidates must meet the minimum requirements below to be considered.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Radiology certification and a valid Registered Dental Assisting license in the state of Texas 2. A minimum of 5 years working as a Chairside Orthodontic Assistant 3. Successful completion of a background check 4. Knowledgeable on assisting the orthodontist in the different types of procedures listed below: Bracket placement and removal Wire adjustments Invisalign attachments and i-Tero scans Deliver and remove rapid palatal expanders (RPEs) Scan, or impress for retainers Deliver removable retainers such as Hawley, Essix or Vivera and bond lower lingual retainers Make in-house Essix retainers Take full orthodontic records and 3D scans adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy Sterilize orthodontic instruments and prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments Other duties and qualifications: Support the front office by scheduling appointments, confirming patient visits, and managing patient or referral requests efficiently Strong knowledge of orthodontic terminology, dental anatomy, charting and infection control protocols Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices Familiar with Dolphin management software or similar orthodontic EMR system What happens after I apply?: Our team will contact qualified candidates for an initial phone interview. If the candidate is a potential match, we will schedule a working interview, where the candidate will be introduced to the office and assigned a patient chair for either a full or a half-day. This working interview will be an opportunity for Dr. Barnett to evaluate the candidates' orthodontic assisting skills. At the end of the working interview there will be an in-person interview with Dr. Barnett and his office manager.
About Training:
We understand that every practice runs a little differently, so there will be some training provided to get our new orthodontic assistant up-to-speed, but overall we expect our new team member to be prepared to work their own column averaging 10-13 patients per day after the completion of their first two weeks. Compensation:
Starting at $26/hour
  • (please note that this is the minimum starting hourly wage, but compensation is flexible based on experience).
Job Type:
Full-time; our standard schedule is 28-32 hours a week; M-Thu with optional Fridays.
