Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team at DFW Dental & Orthodontics as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant and become a vital part of transforming smiles! In this energetic role, you will support an orthodontist in delivering exceptional patient care, ensuring smooth clinical operations, and maintaining a welcoming environment. Responsibilities Assist orthodontists during procedures such as bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings using dental instruments and equipment. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up materials, and ensuring all orthodontic tools are ready for use in accordance with infection prevention management policies. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to dental sterilization procedures. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) , Dentrix ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices specific to orthodontic appliances, including braces or aligners, and provide post-treatment instructions. Coordinate patient scheduling, follow-up appointments, and treatment plans utilizing patient management software to optimize clinic flow. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling medical documentation and medical records with precision and care. Support general dentistry procedures when needed, including pediatric dentistry or oral surgery assistance, demonstrating versatility within the clinic. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is preferred, especially with orthodontic dentistry settings. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques such as chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and aseptic technique is essential. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology enhances communication with team members and patients. Familiarity with dental x-ray procedures, medical imaging technology including 3D scanners, and dental sterilization protocols is highly valued. Strong organizational skills combined with excellent communication abilities are key to providing outstanding patient care in a fast-paced environment focused on clinical excellence.
Work Schedule Monday and Tuesday :
9 am -5 pm
Saturday :
