Job Description

Oral Surgery Dental Assistant Join our dynamic dental team as a Oral Surgery Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly enhance patient care and comfort. In this vital role, you will assist an oral surgeon during a variety of procedures, ensure the highest standards of infection control, and provide exceptional support to our patients. Duties Assist oral surgeon with chairside procedures across oral surgery preocedures, ensuring smooth workflow during treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary dental materials, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as DSN & Romexis ensuring accurate documentation of medical and dental histories. Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient evaluations. Support administrative tasks by functioning as a dental receptionist, such as managing patient flow efficiently. Educate patients on dental procedures, oral hygiene practices, and pre and post-treatment care using clear dental terminology. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control protocols and OSHA guidelines. Assist with medical documentation and coding for insurance claims or medical records management related to dental treatments. Support pediatric patients with gentle chairside assistance tailored to their needs, fostering a positive experience in pediatric oral surgery. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Knowledge of dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry, chairside assisting, and aseptic technique. Proficiency with EMR systems such as DSN & Romexis for managing medical records and documentation. Experience in pediatric dentistry is highly preferred, with the ability to handle young patients compassionately. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards for protecting patient information is essential.
